Village Hall

The Village Hall stands in a field of 16 acres and has car parking for nearly 60 cars. It was built in 1977, but has recently been refurbished in some areas.

Facilities:

These include a large hall with a smaller meeting/party/breakout room (the Woodward Room) and also a kitchen, bar area, male, female and accessible toilets

The Hall is used by a variety of village organisations on a regular basis including the Under 5s, carpet bowls, WI, Badminton and the Evergreens, but it is available for hire. The hall is a large space and has been used for a number of functions including Barn Dances, the Old Newton Christmas Fair, Discos and Quiz Nights. The space is flexible and we'd be happy to talk to you about your intended use of the Hall.

The Woodward Room is currently available most evenings other than Monday.

Hall and Room Hire:

The main hall is available for hire, with or without the smaller Woodward room, for meetings, training sessions, presentations, wedding receptions, parties, dances and other social events.

The kitchen can serve either the main hall or the smaller Woodward room or can be used to serve both.

The playing field which adjoins the hall has two large football pitches and one small football pitch, which are hired and maintained by the local Football Club throughout the winter season. The field also hosts the Cricket Club, which has an artificial strip as well as four grass strips.

Hire Charges:

Current charges (April 2018) are as follows:

Main Hall:

Monday to Friday inclusive - £20 for 4 hours then £5 per hour thereafter

Saturday and Sunday during the day - £30 for 4 hours then £7.50 per hour thereafter

Friday after 6pm - £50 (includes use of the Woodward Room)

Saturday and Sunday after 6pm - £100 (includes use of the Woodward Room)

Woodward Room:

Monday to Thursday inclusive - £10 for 4 hours then £2.50 per hour thereafter

Friday (if available and room not booked as part of the Main Hall hire) - £10 for 4 hours then £2.50 per hour thereafter

Please also note that there is an additional fuel surcharge added to all hires between 01 October and 30 April of 25% of the hire charge

Car Parking:

Car Parking is intended solely for users of the Old Newton Village Hall and Playing Field and Old Newton Sports and Social Club. Unauthorised parking is not permitted.
