Old Newton Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School
Old Newton is a small village school on the outskirts of Stowmarket.
Originally built in 1859 it had an extension in 1999, which included an extra classroom. In addition to the school buildings we have some fantastic grounds around the school, which includes a very generously sized playing field.
The school currently has an intake of 12 per year group, giving 60 as the total number of possible pupils. This will increase to 15 per year group from September 2014 when children will stay at the school until the end of year 6.
This small size has many advantages and people often comment on the friendly ‘community feel' of the school. We received a very positive Ofsted report in December 2011 which can be viewed on our school website at http://www.oldnewton.suffolk.sch.uk/
Old Newton is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England primary school, currently for 4-9 year olds, so therefore we have strong links with local church groups, which includes the pupils taking part in Harvest and Christmas services, and church ministers leading assemblies in the school.
Everyone at our school seeks to promote Christian values of kindness, love, faithfulness, self-control, peace and patience.
For further details on the admission policy or on many other aspects of our school, then please contact us and request a School Prospectus.
